WAV and FLAC keep the sound exactly as it is in the video. MP3 and M4A compress it again, so choose 192 kbps or higher for good quality.

Which video formats does it support?
MP4, M4V, MOV, MKV, WEBM, AVI, WMV, FLV, 3GP, MPG, MPEG, VOB, TS, MTS and OGV files work, as long as the video has an audio track. Copy-protected (DRM) videos cannot be processed.
Does extracting audio reduce quality?
The audio in a video is usually already compressed, for example as AAC. Saving it as WAV or FLAC keeps that sound exactly as it is, while MP3 and M4A compress it again, which is barely audible at 192 kbps or higher. No format can add quality that the video did not have.
How big are WAV and FLAC files?
WAV is about 10 MB per minute of stereo audio, and FLAC is usually around half of that. For very long videos, MP3, M4A or FLAC is safer than WAV.
